Seegrid Quality Engineer - Intern or Co-op - Summer 2020 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Seegrid has an opening for a Quality Engineer Intern or co-op. The Quality Engineer intern or co-op will support manufacturing and delivery of high quality components and assemblies in order to manufacture Vision-Guided Vehicles (VGV). The QE-Intern or co-op will gain and use knowledge of quality control procedures, analysis techniques for electronic component and assembly failures and supplier management/audit practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the revision of quality control procedures including refining inspection checklists, determination of parts that require sampling and actual sampling plans

  • Extract, parse/process, sort and edit quality data for analysis from production and field deployments

  • Participate in supplier audits for quality processes that should include, but are not limited to:

  • process control/proper use of SPC

  • ESD protection

  • 5S housekeeping/workspace organization, and

  • Central Document Control with systems in place for handling special customer requirements

  • Participate in problem-solving/8D activities at HQ and suppliers for non-compliant materials or workmanship defects

Requirements and Experience:

  • Pursing a Bachelor's Degree in the sciences of Engineering

  • Skilled with statistical analysis tolls and at least one application such as JMP, Minitab, SAS, Excel, Periscope, etc.

  • Proficient in use of Windows/Office or Google Docs/Drive

  • High level language programming skills are preferred

  • Coursework projects or prior internship experience in automated manufacturing or robotics is preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
