SHI International Corporation has an opportunity as a Lead Integration Data Center Tech.
We are looking for a dedicated and consciences individual, that has the ability to manage complex Build Integration projects, and can move builds forward to meet targeted customer delivery schedules. The Lead is expected to provide direction and guide a team of resources.
The Lead is expected to work with several different groups which includes technical specialists, automation/scripting developers, network engineers, quality control group, and build technicians. The Lead is expected to acquire knowledge and experience with all facets of the build process, from inception, to the completed product. The IDCS Lead should be able to convey requirements to the build team and will build and guide the resources on a daily basis and lead successful deployments to final product delivery. The Lead is expected to lead onsite delivery teams to support SAS and customer build handoffs.
We are currently hiring for the 1:00PM to 10:00PM shift only.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The candidate will lead a group of build technicians and assist and support the team as they work toward successful project completion.
The candidate should have the ability to decipher customer elevations and turn the logical construct into a physical build. This includes understanding how many and what parts make up the build and how those parts should be configured.
Possess the ability to place all components, including disks, NICs, memory, into the customer defined configuration.
Rack and stack hardware into racks, following customer elevation documentation.
The candidate is expected to learn the customer labeling process for power and network and be able to meet the quality control expectations around those labels and naming standards.
Conduct power testing and respond to any DOAs by debugging and then opening tickets with the hardware vendors.
Assist automation team in running custom scripts to complete hardware verification and populate files with output.
Using customer and internal documentation, conduct a thorough review of builds to confirm they were built to spec.
Attend internal meetings to report status on current build projects.
Attend some external customer meetings to review current status and address any obstacles.
Assign appropriate resources to the tasks at hand.
Confirm that the build team has adequate resources (people), space and power to complete their builds. Address fluctuations in demand through any creative strategy that can balance multiple builds that will need to run in parallel.
Participate in SAS engagements, travel to customer data centers and complete equipment installations and hand-offs as needed.
Confirm that the SAS team has responded to escalations and that on-site work is scheduled per customer requests.
Performs one on one meetings with direct reports on a bi-weekly or monthly basis.
Manages their direct reports PTO time through SHI’s web portal.
Ability to create documentations for projects and to keep them updated at all times.
Work closely with warehouse teams to address issues and ensure projects meet deadlines.
Minimum of 2-3 Years of experience required in the following areas:
Experience in an Integration Data Center Services organization, or some equivalent background.
Leadership Experience, including managing a team of resources and documenting any issues within the team.
Ability to decipher technical documentation and to explain technical detail to team members.
Ability to work under tight time constraints and meet strict deadlines, while interfacing with high pressure individuals and situations.
Technical problem solving skills.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience required in the following areas:
Some technical / hardware / software experience with the following vendors, including but not limited to Lenovo, IBM, HP, Dell, Fireeye, Fujitsu, Hitachi and Acme Packet.
Ability to complete technical configurations, such as firmware upgrades, network settings, and custom settings as required by customer across multiple vendor platforms.
Must possess strong organizational skills.
Ability to work with several teams and manage multiple rack integration projects that are running simultaneously.
Ability to review technical documentation, including VISIO diagrams, and then translate that logical information into a physical build.
Minimum of 1 year of experience required in the following areas:
Basic script understanding, across languages such as Python and Shell.
Ability to transfer knowledge from one environment (i.e. US Build Configuration Center) to another environment (i.e. UK Build Configuration Center) and convey the cross-discipline skills necessary to create a new working environment.
Ability to identify process enhancements in the build / quality control / hardware verification processes
Ability to get multiple resources to work together to achieve a common goal.
Ability to work under pressure, and still remain level-headed and professional.
Ability to work extended hours to complete projects and meet deadlines.
- Completed Bachelors in computer science (or related) or equivalent Data Center experience
HPE / Moonshot Experience
Experience in an Integration Data Center Services organization, or some similar background
