Position summary:

This position will function as an aircraft mechanic in the Aircraft Customization department at Bell's Piney Flats, TN location.

Responsibilities will include

  • Installing Bell, AA and other aftermarket kits

  • Performing major and minor repairs and alterations to aircraft structure, including sheet metal and composite repairs and fabrications.

  • Fabrication of mounting provisions for avionics installations

  • Other tasks as assigned, to include line crew duties as required

Education requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Position requirements

  • Previous experience with mechanical work, aircraft sheetmetal, composite repairs, or similar work required. Additional skills and experience may qualify candidate for a higher level/pay grade. (Note: a skills test will be administered during the interview process.)

  • Ability to read and understand installation instructions, maintenance manuals and blueprints

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Ability to measure, drill and modify aircraft structures without causing damage to structure or underlying components

  • FAA Airframe license or A&P may be a plus

  • Must work as a team member to ensure quality and timely completions of aircraft to meet schedule.

  • Must work overtime as required

  • Must purchase or own tools required for the jobs assigned

Physical requirements

Ability to sit, stand, crawl, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces as required. Ability to stand as required for duration of shift. Able to lift 50 lbs.
