Automation Project Engineer
Kelly Engineering has a client who is looking for an Automation Engineer to join their team. This client is a fast-growing company that’s known for bringing innovation and technology to deliver electronic solutions to customers in more than 40 countries. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible to identify, design, develop, quote, and manage new automation projects and modification of existing equipment.

Education: BS degree (Engineering or construction management or related degree)
Location: Pinellas Park, FL
Analyze processes and data to identify Automation Opportunities within manufacturing facility
Identify, plan, implement, and take responsibility for projects until qualification goals are met or exceeded.
Work with internal and external suppliers to ensure successful automation project completion through concept, concept testing, quote, design, design review, build, debug, qualification, and training.
Implement technical solutions to meet customer, cost, quality, and delivery expectations. Create and monitor project timelines.
Conduct Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (DFMEAs).
Keep abreast of industry research and development activities with a focus on project applicable technology.
Research alternative automation methods that will provide a competitive advantage.
Coordinate quotes and purchase tooling for new or improvement projects.
Train Technicians and Machine Operators
2 years of Electro-Mechanical Experience or Project Management Experience
5 years of Electro-Mechanical Integration Experience or Project Management Experience
Ability to use CAD to determine if tooling, equipment, and part designs meet requirements
Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint
Lift and transport up to 50 pounds and able to stand throughout the duration of the shift
Automation Design Experience
Thorough knowledge of quality tools, such as FMEAs, DFMEAs, and Root Cause Analysis
Strong electro-mechanical background
Experience with feeder bowls, step feeders, and flex feeders
Experience reading and writing ladder logic for production equipment
Strong background supporting, troubleshooting, replacing, and integrating vision systems, sensors, servos, potentiometers, and heaters
Strong background supporting, troubleshooting, replacing, and integrating pneumatic cylinders, electric motors, gear boxes, cams, and bearings
Working knowledge of SAP, MP2, AutoCAD, Sysmac Studio, CX Programmer, and NB Designer
Familiar with 5S philosophy
Familiar with Lean and Six Sigma tools and principles
