What’s the opportunity?
We are building our next generation API Management and microservice management. We are building a hybrid multi-cloud solution that manages API traffic in all directions, leveraging istio.io and Envoy at its core, providing end to end visibility and security across all APIs and microservices.
We are looking for a Software Development Manager.
Axway is looking for a leader that's highly passionate about building a high performing engineering organization. As an engineering leader, the successful candidate will own building and managing the engineering organization, API Management solution development and delivery, and establishing and fostering the team culture. You will work with senior leadership, engineers, architects, product managers, and other Axway teams to identify the most important deliverables for our SaaS and Hybrid API Management products.
He or she should care deeply about building simple and elegant software solutions. Ideally, the candidate should have a track record of delivering high-quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. You should know how to prioritize, communicate clearly and compellingly, and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong team.
A passion and discipline around operational excellence are critical. A high level of ownership and accountability is a must.
Manage one or more development teams to enable taking our software to market quickly
Take ownership of team; managing and mentoring team members toward deliverables and project completion
Work with senior leadership, engineers and architect(s) to form technical vision and strategy for our product and inspire teams to deliver
Improve team processes to increase effectiveness, improve product quality, and enhance work/life balance
Expand and improve our development process
Architecting and documenting our systems as they grow
Build, package and deploy systems that are highly reliable, scalable using cloud infrastructures
6+ years of experience in software development
3+ years managing diverse software teams
Strong history managing team(s) of engineers, including coaching and mentoring, 1:1s, and performance reviews
Excellent communication teamwork skills and ability to handle multiple tasks across multiple disciplines
Experience building, packaging and operating scalable infrastructure software or distributed systems
Expert in Agile development process
Strong desire to support and develop other leaders
Proven track record of hiring and managing diverse, deeply talented & high performing engineering teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
Nice to have:
Scrum Master certification
Experience working with remote teams
Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
Keen ability to achieve stretch goals
