Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing instruction, encouraging student progress, and managing the learning environment in the absence of the full-time classroom teacher

  • Maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism

  • Demonstrating effective interpersonal skills interacting with students, teachers, administrators, and parents

Requirements

Substitute Teacher Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher, any major acceptable

Paraprofessional Job Requirements:

  • HS Diploma/GED minimum.

  • If you have completed less than 60 college credit hours, you must also complete and pass The School District of Philadelphia's Highly Qualified Exam

  • If you have completed 60 or more college credit hours, the Highly Qualified Exam is not required
