DUTIES: Provide technical leadership to teams responsible for building and maintaining data management services across the Xfinity Mobile Back Office (MBO) platform, including the mobile services platform, mobile buyflow controller, mobile inventory service and ETL systems, to enable accurate capture, distribution, security and leverage of data resources; build, manage, and improve database infrastructures supporting customer-facing applications and the back-office environment, utilizing Oracle RDBMS (Relational Database Management System); develop solutions for complex, wide-reaching systems engineering issues in a 24/7 environment, and set policies and procedures to handle future issues; implement highly available data solutions and disaster recovery solutions, and maintain database and systems security, utilizing Oracle tools: Real Application Cluster (RAC), Automation Storage Management (ASM), GoldenGate, Data Guard, SharePlex, Recovery Manager (RMAN), and Enterprise Manager (OEM); create task automation scripts using Unix Shell Scripting; set-up database replication across platforms; architect, build, deploy, and stabilize code; create and maintain overall database policies, standards, and documentation regarding availability, replication, backup and recovery, service level agreements, baseline architectures, change management, access to production, unsupported hardware and software, security and audit violations, and risk acceptance; set up, troubleshoot, and tune complex storage area network (SAN) software issues; develop database-backed systems software; design horizontally-scalable solutions with innovative use of storage and networking, including solid application program interfaces (APIs) for integration with other systems; utilize SQL tuning to improve database performance and troubleshoot issues; architect new systems, and utilize knowledge of existing database and storage platforms to evaluate and recommend new systems and technologies; resolve break/fix scenarios, engaging broader teams as necessary; contribute to command- and control-related activities focused on rapidly restoring complex outages and communication; interface with external vendors and other third parties to address issues across company infrastructure; and guide and mentor junior-level team members.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, and five (5) years of experience performing database administration, utilizing Oracle Relational Database Management System (RDBMS); including implementing highly available data solutions and disaster recovery solutions, using Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) and Automation Storage Management (ASM), as well as one of GoldenGate, Data Guard, or Shareplex; of which two (2) years must include utilizing SQL tuning, Unix Shell Scripting, and Oracle tools: RMAN and OEM.
