Job Description Summary
The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is the oldest and one of the finest medical schools in the United States. Primary role is the technical processing of biospecimens in the Tumor Tissue and Biorespository Laboratory, including blood, tissue, and bodily fluids. Samplehandling encompassing blood separation and advanced cell gradient and tissue culture. Under supervision of Technical Director and Lab Manager, maintain strictadhere to SOPs, QC and QA policies consistent with study guidelines as well as NCI and ISBER Best Practices. Facilitate all aspects of sample inventory anddistribution. Provide special handling and processing of unusual specimens. Additional responsibilities include freezer monitoring and rotating on-call freezerresponse, shipping biological specimens, record keeping, equipment maintenance/calibration, and safety compliance in the lab. Candidates must have goodcommunication skills.
Position is contingent on continued funding.
Bachelor's degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
