That.and.#39;s what we.and.#39;re made of.Are you ready to join the team that.and.#39;s more than medicine*Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, a tertiary care teaching hospital with a Level One Trauma center is seeking new and experienced nurses to join our Medical ICU.The Medical ICU (MICU) is a 16 bed critical care unit with dedicated staff who cares for patients that require continuous cardiac/ hemodynamic monitoring, and mechanical ventilation. The MICU comprises of a strong multidisciplinary team of medical professionals who provide exceptional intensive care to our most critically ill patients with neurological disorders, sepsis, respiratory distress, renal failure, hepatic failure, and multi-system failure. Our nursing team prides itself on its teamwork, with a focus on evidence based practice to provide the best patient outcome for our population.IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Planning, facilitating, coordinating and evaluating all unit activities including patient care, operations and human resource management in conjunction with Nurse Manager/Clinical Director.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Participating in discussion with Nurse Manager/Clinical director of budget allocations and limitations based on daily observations and evaluations of unit need.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Assisting with budget preparation and monthly expense reports as defined by Nurse Manager/Clinical Directo.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Assisting with maintaining fiscal responsibility to the CPPD targets; monitoring financial performance and productivity and making appropriate adjustments daily.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Completing appropriate employee counseling and disciplinary action in consultation with Nurse Manager/Clinical Director.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Overseeing discharge planning in collaboration with Care Management and through Care Management Rounds.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Functioning as a clinical resource nurse and role model for the nursing staff.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Maintaining clinical skills and assisting staff by providing direct patient care at least every six weeks or more often if needed.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Actively participating in the ongoing evaluation of the care delivered on the unit through daily rounds, regular chart reviews, and ongoing evaluation of staff performance providing both formal and informal feedback.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Coordinating unit based orientation, supervising and evaluating unit preceptors, and meeting regularly with preceptors and orientees to collaborate on the orientee*s daily plan.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Identifying educational needs of staff and working with staff development and the shared governance councils to develop a plan to meet those needs.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Collaborating with the nursing staff, councils, physicians, and patients, families and other disciplines to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care outcomes through the use of pathways, standards, and practice guidelines.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Responding to and intervening in conflict resolutions that occur on the unit related to the delivery of patient care.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; * Communicating and sharing information with staff on a regular basis and keeping employees informed of new policies, procedures, new progr
