Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Principal Application Engineer in Petah Tikva, Israel

Cadence is seeking highly motivated and energetic application engineers with communication and storage interface IP background to support and contribute to the development of SoCs. In this role, you will work with our sales and marketing groups to discover new opportunities, provide technical application support, and contribute to state-of-the-art SoCs that are integral to the business of our customers in automotive, mobile, networking, and IoT markets.

As member of the System Design Enablement team at Cadence, the ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying Cadence technology and solutions into demanding customer designs, promoting sales and product improvements as well as providing strategic services to customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Be the main technical contact for customer engagements from technical discovery, through presales and IP delivery, to post-sales support. Potentially also involving design and verification services.

  • Represent the Cadence Design IP product portfolio providing the customer with detailed product information and design tools such as data sheets, samples, demo boards, application notes, product trainings, and product seminars. Help them understand how our product fits to their requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance to customers at each step of the ASIC flow, from architecture definition to post-silicon debug for general digital systems, including the IP selection.

  • Provide in-depth design assistance and services to help support specific product/system design efforts by finding innovative solutions in existing and emerging technology nodes.

  • Prepare, and participate in project meetings, conference calls, and reviews, communicating clearly in diverse intercultural settings. Support the creation of technical IP addenda.

  • Understand the competitive landscape and continuously work on differentiating Cadence’s solutions.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to gather customer’s requirements and drive roadmaps

Key Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have an MSEE or MSCS and 5+ years (or a PhD and 2+ years) of experience related to the design or support of contemporary communication IP, preferably in advanced CMOS technologies

  • Experience with ASIC flows and modern CAD tools (Verilog/VHDL, synthesis & PPA analysis, etc)

  • Knowledge of several IO protocols, such as DDR, PCIE, USB, Ethernet, MIPI

  • Knowledge of signal integrity and board development process are also beneficial.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
