Thompson Pump and Manufacturing Co., Inc. CDL DRIVER in Pensacola, Florida

POSITION OBJECTIVES: Drives trucks with capacities that may exceed 3 tons. Transports materials to and from specified destinations. Assists with the installation, set-up and demonstration of the equipment.

  • Deliver and pick up loads as assigned in a courteous and timely manner.

  • Loads and unloads truck.

  • Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.

  • Completes all paperwork, to include termination tickets, accurately and verifies that load is checked for accuracy.

  • Maintains truck log, trip sheets, inspection reports and other documentation according to state and federal regulations and internal policies and procedures.

  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water and completes daily inspection reports.

  • Reports any vehicle functioning problems to the Service manager and/or the Branch Manager and inform Service Manager and/or Branch Manager of service required to vehicle.

  • Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.

  • Inquire if the Customer has any other projects either in progress or starting in the future on which they may need our pumps or dewatering equipment.

  • May be required to work overtime.

  • May be required to work weekends.


  • High School diploma or GED is required. Trade school graduate preferred. One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must possess and maintain a Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL). Endorsements such as air brake and HazMat may also be required.

  • Must maintain only one valid commercial motor vehicle operator's license.

  • Must posses a valid medical certificate and be able to meet the medical certification requirements by DOT.
