The Quality Engineer will provide technical support, from a quality perspective, in the resolution of production concerns. The Engineer is responsible for verifying that all quality standards relating to production processes and finished goods are adhered to under all circumstances.
The following is a more detailed list of the Quality Engineer’s responsibilities.
Provide Root Cause Analysis and assistance in the resolution of customer concerns;
Communicate quality related changes to Engineering Departments to ensure that the corrective action can be applied to future similar circumstances;
Participate on and provide support for troubleshooting to ensure a focus on Pareto resolution of high priority customer concerns;
Provide support for APQP activity related to new product launches;
Participate in the development of shop floor procedures to ensure that defined corrective actions are permanent;
Provide support to Quality Department leadership to allow for increased focus on problem resolution and decreased emphasis on data collection;
Through cross-functional work with all other departments, obtain improvements for in-house rejections, customer concerns, cost of quality and run ratio measurables;
Benchmark Techform quality practices against those of other automotive suppliers with the goal of continuous improvement;
Assist in responding to customer complaints in an appropriate and timely manner (ie. 8-D, 7-D, 5-P)
Knowledge and Education
A post secondary degree as a Mechanical Engineer or equivalent is required;
Superior organizational skills are required;
Superior written and verbal communication skills are required;
A thorough knowledge of generally accepted Quality Control procedures is required;
Minimum of 2 years experience in a Quality Engineer role.
