Sr. Manager, R&D
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Manager to join the Cloud Platform Engineering Operations team. Our team works on several fronts including enabling CI/CD pipeline through DevOps Automation, managing Engineering Operations to support vSphere development and testing, defining and operationalizing SDLC processes, Data Visualization and leading key program initiatives as well as engineering productivity efforts.
In this role you will manage a team of Automation, Engineering Operation and Data Visualization engineers. Your team will be responsible for developing tools for improving operational efficiency, developing CI/CD pipelines, developing and implementing data analysis, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality metrics dashboards.
This is a highly visible position across multiple engineering teams and therefore requires working closely with stakeholders across all R&D functions.
Integrate state of the art, latest DevOps automation tools within the CI/CD pipeline
Manage and develop the Engineering Operations and Automation teams in Bangalore, India working in partnership with those functional managers in Palo Alto
Translating business analytics needs into data visualization
Conceptualize, design and develop data visualization solutions that synthesize data concepts into clear communications for key business stakeholders.
Provide mentorship and lead strong development practices inside the team
B.S. in Computer Science or related technical field
At least 15 years’ experience executing complex, cross-functional software projects, 3-5 years in DevOps automation role and 2-3 years in BI visualization
Must have solid understanding and hands-on experience in developing CICD pipelines
Must have experience with tools like Git, Perforce, Jenkins, Gerrit, Review Board, SonarQube, Jira, Fisheye, Artifactory, Docker, Ansible, etc.
Passion for mining and analyzing data.
General knowledge of virtualization and vSphere product
Must have strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills with ability to drive to solutions both independently and working with teams.
Proven ability to handle multiple, complex technical projects and have the flexibility to work in a very dynamic environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Solid and effective people management skills: mentoring, career management and collaboration
