Tax Director – Tax Accounting

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the preparation and review of interim and annual global income tax provisions under ASC 740, as well as the preparation and review of all tax accounting internal and external reporting deliverables with an emphasis on foreign income tax provisions

  • Perform technical analysis, calculations related to, but not limited to, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, tax accounting (financial statement) impacts of business transactions, and legislative changes and draft technical memos for the positions taken in the Company’s income tax provision calculations and disclosures

  • Proactively identify, analyze and communicate tax accounting issues with both tax and non-tax management personnel

  • Plan and coordinate the project from the beginning to successful execution

  • Identify and implement process improvements for tax accounting

  • Mentor and develop staff and oversee the work of the consultants

  • Manage and direct compliance efforts for SOX (internal control) for all tax accounting controls and documentation requirements

  • Effectively collaborate with other functions (various internal tax teams, other finance organization such as FP&A, accounting, Treasury, and SEC reporting) to ensure all changes affecting tax reporting are proactively managed

  • Provide support in answering financial statement auditor’s questions and requests

  • Manage the deliverables to US/ international team from the foreign tax provision results

  • Assist in the coordination and integration efforts related to the consolidated tax reporting with Dell Tax organization

  • Assist in tax projects, including modeling for tax impacts

Reports to Sr. Director, Tax – Tax Accounting

Position requirements:

  • Must possess strong tax accounting skills and attention to detail

  • Must have knowledge in the US international tax (GILTI, BEAT, FDII, and FTC) and its indirect impacts on other areas of the global income tax

  • Must be capable of managing multiple assignments and adhering to strict deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent updates and information sharing with supervisor and team members

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA is required; MST is a plus

  • 12+ years of experience in industry in managing income tax provision calculation and reporting processes for multi-national SEC registered companies and prior public accounting (Big 4 experience preferred)

  • Candidates should have prior high technology industry and specific job experience similar to this role including extensive technical skills in a wide range of income tax matters

  • Experience with Longview Tax Provision software is a plus

  • Experience with SAP and HFM is a plus

  • Be open minded to changes and transitions
