Companion Health Group Caregiver in Orange, California

As a member of the Companion Home Health Home Care team, the caregiver will provide personal care and/or light housekeeping services to our elder and/or disabled clients. The caregiver may perform related tasks in the client/family place of residence in accordance with the plan of care assigned.


Responsible for carrying out the duties assigned in order to increase the level of comfort, and to maintain personal hygiene and a safe, healthy environment for the client. To provide respite relief from total care for primary caregiver.


Demonstrated ability to make meaningful observations and write brief, accurate reports. Demonstrated ability to recognize the needs of people and to maintain good relationships with them. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in maintaining a safe home environment. Demonstrated skills and knowledge of food preparation and household cleanliness.


May assists clients with personal care, transfers in and out of bed and ambulation: May plan, shop and/or prepares nutritionally sound meals and/or special diets.

Performs tasks in a manner consistent with instructions; Considers client's preferences within limits of diet. May assists with medications that are ordinarily self-administered.

May assist with prescribed exercises which clients and Caregivers have been taught by appropriate health personnel:

May assist client to perform activity according to instructions;

Reports changes in the client's condition and needs:

Demonstrates sound judgment. Reports changes to CHHHC office in a timely manner.

May perform light housekeeping duties directly associated with client care.

(example: dusting, vacuuming, clean floors, wash dishes, linen change, laundry. No deep cleaning, heavy lifting, climbing, moving furniture or anything that requires them to get on their hands and knees)

Demonstrates use of proper body mechanics in performing tasks; Maintains a safe environment. Documents care of client on appropriate forms;

Documents care clearly using accepted standards of documentation and abbreviations Completes documentation process in a timely manner; Writes clearly and legibly

Participates in in-service education programs and other meetings, as appropriate;

Makes suggestions regarding in service needs; Attends appropriate meetings on a regular basis.

Maintains a positive and professional image:

Strictly adheres to agency policy regarding confidentiality and right to privacy; Maintains a positive attendance record and provides proper notification of absences. Demonstrates responsibility through responsiveness to others and follows up on matters requiring additional attention.

Performs other duties as assigned within CHHHC Guidelines.

Demonstrates willingness to accept other assignments, as appropriate. May assist client with bath, mouth care, skin, hair and all aspects of personal hygiene.



A valid California Driver?s License. A reliable car when travel is required. Evidence of automobile insurance when travel is required. Medical A tuberculin skin test within six months prior to employment or within 14 days of the date of employment and every year thereafter.


Completion of an appropriate orientation and training programs.
