We are seeking an Senior Cost Accountant in the Inland Empire area. As a Sr. Cost Accountant you will have responsibility for the preparation and development of monthly reporting and financial packages with detailed explanations of key drivers. You will also be performing month-end cost accounting close activities to include creation of journal entries as related to gross margin.

Additional responsibilities include:

Maintaining cost accounting system and cost ledger Analyzing inventory valuations and reserves Implementing quarterly cost standards Reconciling beginning raw materials work-in-progress and finished-goods stock Contribute to the set-up of new raw material packaging WIP and FG items; roll production BOMs; maintain periodic cost rolls/updates Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation. Prepare Balance Sheet account analysis and correct variances for inventory and reserve accounts Provide detailed guidance on drivers of period expenses material usage variances and purchase price variances Participate in annual and quarterly financial audit and external reporting requirements Play a key role in the physical inventory counts and audits

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting Finance or Economics from four-year College or university or equivalent manufacturing experience Very strong cost accounting skills knowledge and expertise within a complex manufacturing environment Aptitude to process financial data and formulate analytical reports and reconciliations. Ability to think strategically from high level with consideration for broader implications of various alternatives. Capable of explaining complex accounting transactions in language understandable to non-finance people In depth experience among Microsoft Office applications and ERP software Experience with shop floor activities such as MRP Bills of Materials Production Routings work orders/production orders and ERP systems is desirable
