Hampel Oil Distributors, Inc. Regional Mechanic in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

The Regional Mechanic will be responsible for successfully repairing and maintaining the fleet of company trucks to increase vehicle up-time and decrease maintenance costs. Maintenance of all truck pumping systems, basic mechanical components and tanks will be the primary focus of this position. Basic troubleshooting and maintenance of engine components will be required while larger internal engine repairs will be completed by authorized repair facilities.

The chosen candidate will provide maintenance and repair service throughout the state of Oklahoma. The Regional Mechanic will travel 10% of the time between our 4 locations in Oklahoma (Oklahoma City, Alva, Sayre, and Enid). All major repairs will be conducted at our Oklahoma City facility.

Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter that enjoys working independently with minimal supervision solving problems without obvious solutions. Candidates should have 4 years of experience maintaining heavy diesel equipment and have an understanding of the basic mechanics our fleet (Class 8 Kenworth & Peterbilt) including engine components, pumping systems and tank components. We are looking for someone with a STRONG mechanical aptitude. Our ideal candidate will have an understanding of the fuel and oil products distributed by our company. Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Class B CDL with Airbrakes endorsements

  • 5+ years maintenance of heavy diesel equipment

  • 5 year clear driving record

  • Heavy truck maintenance experience

  • Current brake repair certification or ability to acquire within 6 months of employment

  • Diesel truck maintenance certification

  • Great Customer Service attitude

  • Previous Fuel and Oil experience helpful

  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed or required

  • Ability for occasional on-call weekend and overnight as required

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Hazmat Endorsement

  • 10+ years maintenance of heady diesel equipment

  • Forklift Certification to load products

  • Knowledge of the Hampel Oil’s business and possible customer base

Candidates will be required to supply their own basic hand tools. Specialty tools and supplies will be provided by the Company.

All candidates must be willing and able to submit to and pass a pre-employment DOT drug screening and background check.
