OGDEN-WEBER TECHNICAL COLLEGE Nail Technician Instructor in OGDEN, Utah

This position works under the direction of the Cosmetology Lead Instructor-Coordinator. The Nail Technician Instructor will be responsible for.and.nbsp;providing technical instruction for students enrolled in the cosmetology program. Course content areas may include: nail care, manicure,.and.nbsp;pedicure, acrylic, gel, fiberglass, front desk operations and related theory required to obtain a state license. Additional responsibilities include verifying student competencies, student advisement and retention, maintaining student records, and maintaining contact with area employers.Essential Functions:1. Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean and productive learning environment.2. Administer and correct tests annotate progress on students tracking records.3. Advance the retention of students in support of achieving program membership hour goals.4. Assist students with job placement and applicable industry or state certifications-licenses in support of meeting.and.nbsp;program placement and certification goals.5. Develop annual professional development plan and participate in professional development activities.6. Motivate and advise students in the areas of appropriate work behavior, training, or study habits. Assist.and.nbsp;counselors, supervisor, and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training.7. Follow the daily operational direction and schedule of the Lead Instructor-Coordinator.8. Be available to work as scheduled by the Lead Instructor-Coordinator at either campus location, including.and.nbsp;evenings, to support all the program operating hours.9. Encourage and exemplify professionalism and good work habits.10. Support programmatic and College marketing activities.11. Work cooperatively within the College community.12. Control the use of equipment and supplies recommend purchases.13. Comply with college-wide and program-specific cash handling procedures and processes.It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his-her capabilities as determined by management.Education and Experience Requirements:1. Minimum of four years of a combination of related work experience and post-secondary education in the nail.and.nbsp;technician-cosmetology industry.2. Two years of documented practical nail technician experience.3. Preference will be given to those individual that have teaching experience.4. Current nail technician-cosmetology license required. Preference will be given to those individuals that hold a.and.nbsp;nail technician-cosmetology instructor license.5. Familiar with word processing, email and can operate a Windows-based personal computer.6. Demonstrate ability to work with individuals of all racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.7.
