Job Description

The District SalesManager (DSM) is the senior operating manager of the Oil & Gas region sales(TX, OK,). The manager oversees sales,operations and support functions for the district; with oversight of allselling functions, customer support, shop production andwarehouse/logistics. The DSM is to haveongoing, dynamic and detailed knowledge of all customer sales activities –meeting regularly with region customers. The manager’s success is summarized in their ability to meet budgetedand forecasted sales plans in the year.

As the seniormanager for the district, the safety record and performance of the team is theDSM’s direct responsibility.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safety – conductall activities in a safe manner, utilizing PPE and adhering to company policyand alerting others regarding potential concerns. Safety is #1.

  • Salesand Sales Management: The DSM is thesales person in chief (directly advancing all sales activities) and managingthe districts PSR’s results to obtain budgeted forecasts. Sales management, quoting and forecastingmonthly, quarterly and annual results are the responsibilities for the DSM:

  • Monitor sales call effectiveness (call, quote,order and closing ratios)

  • Ensure full product line is marketed and allopportunities are uncovered

  • Ensure PSR productivity – through coaching andmanagement, the DM directly oversees field sales efficiency.

  • CustomerService Support: The manager overseeslocal customer support, delivery, order intake and account coordination.

  • Directemployees to meet customer expectations and company objectives. Ensuredepartment is staffed to meet demand. Clearly communicate employee expectations and regularly provide formaland informal feedback regarding employee performance.

  • Maintainkey metrics to monitor the performance of the CSR’s and coordinate with HEPMoperations and Billings support team. Promote efficient and productive interactions between external andinternal customers. Ensure field accountmanagers are supported with excellence.

  • Ensureall customer communication is coordinated effectively – including warrantyadministration claims, problem resolutions, credits (as applicable) and properquote, pre-invoice and core return documentation. Ensure quality lessons are learned andresolutions implemented.

  • Ensureall logistics are performed with the highest efficiency, freight recovery andto customer expectations.

  • Orderdelivery compliance – maximize order accuracy and delivery compliance.

  • Regularlycommunicate upcoming demand with manufacturing to ensure maximized customersatisfaction and production efficiency.

  • Ensurecoordination with Billings engineering and shop resources are effective

  • Warehouse/ Inventory: Oversee warehouse, logistics and inventoryfunctions to ensure customer expectations are met and company assets areprotected.

  • Ensure orders aredelivered accurately, timely and professionally

  • Monitor stocking levelsto meet customer demands and achieve acceptable turns.

  • Ensure inventorycontrol through weekly cycle counts, regular inventories and warehouse bestpractices.

QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor degree in Business or related field

  • 10 or more years of industry experience.

  • A professional, ethical and exceptional work-ethic is required

  • Travel requirements will average 50 – 75%
