Kaiser Permanente Executive Director, Shared Services Integration Strategy and Transformation in Oakland, California
Identifying and standardizing shared service integrations with any new entities through Kaiser Permanente merger & acquisition transactions or other business partnerships as well as accelerate and maximize value brought to those integrations. Being able to quickly -plug and play- shared services into these transactions could bring significant value to the overall business case.
Resources to identify and assess for new shared service creation within Kaiser Permanente as well as option analyses for performing those services internally or externally. Strong manufacturing and operations throughput skills that can be applied to Kaiser Permanente processes will be critical. Oversee an ESS project management and transformation office to leverage PMO and other resources across ESS for all its initiatives and investments as well as provide the ability to send in a team to help any given shared service with rapid implementation or improvement. This position will also be responsible for assisting in the long term ESS strategy as to what shared services should be managed under the ESS umbrella vs those that should not as well as oversee the ESS shared service customer experience strategy and improvement efforts/roadmap.
Provides highly complex and effective share services strategy in alignment with the organization-s strategy and executes on that strategy.
Oversees deployment efforts for effective and standard process management across the shared services and other organizations with respect to integration efforts including knowledge sharing and deployment of best practices. Ensures continuous and effective process improvement practices for this integration work. Tracks and reports results of the integration efforts to executive leadership.
Manages and participates in the KP shared services model implementation and continued management supporting direct implementation if needed to accelerate value and benefits. Manages continuous improvements to the transformation deployment model over time.
Provides leadership to ESS leadership on the ESS shared service strategy, business performance, process management, and the shared services model deployment for ESS.
Provides consultative services to drive to a -customer-focused- organization within ESS and for other shared services utilizing Client Leadership Forums and other customer-related councils, providing feedback information to the governance team, and driving best practices for client focus in the delivery of efficient and cost-effective services.
Ensures best practices and lessons learned are shared across the enterprise as quickly as possible following significant incidents and successes in furtherance of Kaiser Permanente-s principle of being a continuously learning organization.
Effectively communicates the overall performance of ESS to ESS leadership including the standardization of an ESS process performance governance as well as scorecard.
Collaboratively works with all relevant internal stakeholder groups to formulate proactive communications, change management and educational strategies to enhance the understanding and cultivate the awareness of the shared services implementation strategy and process management during mergers and acquisition activities as well as effectively assesses internal vs external support for those services.
Manages and develops staff and maintain a high performing team capable of continuous learning & adapting, to support the organization to meet changing demands.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience directly managing people and projects including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people in their work.
- Bachelor-s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, operations/supply chain/engineering or related field.
License, Certification, Registration
Demonstrated experience in streamlining business processes and working with external service providers.
Demonstrated commitment to developing and maintaining collaborative relationships at all organization levels. Demonstrated ability to use influencing skills to gain alignment and support for key programs using a strong team orientation and collaborative style.
Ability to manage multiple, large complex projects including managing to the approved project timeline and budget, acquiring and allocating resources, ensuring quality deliverables, effective communication and program management.
Proven experience working in an environment that uses service management principles including end to end process management, state of the art customer sensing and response mechanisms, SLAs and OLA performance reporting, customer agreements, etc.
Strong track record and proven ability to analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data and use business and financial analytics to improve decision-making.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent presentation skills.
Prior experience managing a shared service or shared service program implementation or working with M&A integrations.
Master-s in business administration, finance, accounting, operations/supply chain/engineering or related field preferred.
Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and principles such as LEAN, Six Sigma, process automation; etc. Certification in one of these areas preferred.
