Danbury Hospital Staff Nurse in Norwalk, Connecticut
$15,000 Sign on Bonus
Required: License to practice in the State of Connecticut. Bachelor's Degree (BSN),Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR), Trauma hours, as per unit standards. The primary function of the Staff Nurse is to provide assessment and treatment of patients. Under the supervision of the Patient Care Manager, the Staff Nurse: - Elicits a comprehensive medical history and completes the admission assessment - Documents detailed information incorporating the plan of care, interventions and outcomes reflecting the patient's physical, mental and emotional status - Assesses the patient prior to administering medications noting allergies, parameters, potential side effects, effectiveness and intervening as needed - Conducts walking rounds for shift report and introductory rounds with assigned patients at the beginning of the shift - Assumes role of charge nurse demonstrating independent problem solving, decision making, organizational and prioritization skills. - Attends to unit staffing needs in relation to acuity and census in a pro-active manner. Hours: 40 or 36 control hours. (8, 10, or 12 hour shifts depending on the control hours).
$15,000 Sign-On Bonus for external candidates with at least 2 years OR experience and a BSN degree. Internal candidates who transfer to bonus eligible positions do not qualify.
