Salary Range: $25.40 an hour
The primary responsibilities of this position include: participation in day-to-day laboratory research projects under the direction of the Principal Investigator (including experimental set-up, data collection, and data analysis) and animal colony management (including animal husbandry, genotyping, phenotyping, and daily experimental rodent protocols). Skills frequently utilized to complete daily tasks include: mouse handling, basic lab skills (e.g. pipetting), flow cytometry, and sterile technique.
60% - Performing animal experiments
20% - Animal husbandry
10% - Recording/analyzing data
10% - General lab maintenance
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or physics or related science or equivalent in education, training and experience
A successful candidate will be a self-starter, have excellent organizational and record keeping skills, and be able to multi-task while maintaining precision and quickness.
Applicants with experience in animal husbandry are strongly encouraged to apply.
Experience with flow cytometry will be an advantage.
