We are looking for a highly motivated Technician B who will work in a Laboratory of Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering. He or she will join a team of scientists focusing on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC’s) and differentiating them into cardiomyocytes to study heart diseases.
Performing cell culture and differentiation of iPSC’s in cardiomyocytes.
Characterize those cells molecularly and functionally with such techniques as immunofluorescence, western blot, immunohistochemistry, RT PCR, force measurement and metabolic assays.
Assist other members in the laboratory performing experiments and generating reagents/buffers when needed
Assist scientists by preparing solutions.
Assist with lab organization.
Configure and operate laboratory apparatus and instruments.
Perform other responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, biology or physics or related sciences or equivalent in education, training and experience.
- Experience of at least one year with cell culture, especially any experience with iPS cells, is preferred.
The Successful Candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and able to work well in a team environment.
Excellent skills in molecular biology and cell culturing techniques and a strong interest in biological sciences, specifically cardiovascular biology.
Additional requirements include technical accuracy, reliability, attention to the details of procedural protocols.
Adherence to safety guidelines.
Participation in Medical Surveillance Program.
Must successfully complete systems training requirements.
