Position Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated Technician B who will work in a Laboratory of Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering. He or she will join a team of scientists focusing on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC’s) and differentiating them into cardiomyocytes to study heart diseases.


  • Performing cell culture and differentiation of iPSC’s in cardiomyocytes.

  • Characterize those cells molecularly and functionally with such techniques as immunofluorescence, western blot, immunohistochemistry, RT PCR, force measurement and metabolic assays.

  • Assist other members in the laboratory performing experiments and generating reagents/buffers when needed

  • Assist scientists by preparing solutions.

  • Assist with lab organization.

  • Configure and operate laboratory apparatus and instruments.

  • Perform other responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, biology or physics or related sciences or equivalent in education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of at least one year with cell culture, especially any experience with iPS cells, is preferred.

Other Requirements

  • The Successful Candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and able to work well in a team environment.

  • Excellent skills in molecular biology and cell culturing techniques and a strong interest in biological sciences, specifically cardiovascular biology.

  • Additional requirements include technical accuracy, reliability, attention to the details of procedural protocols.

  • Adherence to safety guidelines.

  • Participation in Medical Surveillance Program.

  • Must successfully complete systems training requirements.
