Position Summary

The School of Nursing at Columbia University is seeking a Columbia University student to assist a research team on an NIH-funded study to develop and test a comprehensive program of palliative care for patients with multiple chronic conditions in the primary care setting.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the research team with literature reviews;

  • Supporting the research team with scheduling and conducting interviews & focus groups via the telephone & zoom in English and Spanish;

  • Helping the research team with analyzing qualitative data;

  • Performing quantitative data collection via chart review; and

  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

This is a grant funded position and continued employment is contingent upon the grant.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, social work, public health, or related field.

  • Bilingual Spanish/English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis;

  • Experience with REDCap and NVivo software;

  • Experience conducting research with human subjects (e.g., obtaining informed consent, securely storing data, communicating with IRB);

  • Master’s degree in nursing, social work, public health, or related field;

  • Interest in palliative care and/or primary care for patients with multiple chronic conditions is a plus.
