Advertised Summary Job Description The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center of Columbia University, a clinical and population-based cancer research and patient care center, is looking to hire a Research Project Coordinator.
Work closely with the study PI and co-investigators to implement a community-based health assessment survey
Develop policies and procedures consistent with the study protocol for the collection of community-based health data
Serve as liaison between research staff and community organizations and leaders
Coordinate the collection of survey data related to community health from multiple sources
Participate in data collection; obtain informed consent and conduct in-person interviews within the Cancer Center catchment area
Train and oversee staff conducting interviews
Create a study-specific database to house survey data
Conduct data analysis and prepare reports
Prepare IRB submissions, modifications, and renewals
Coordinate meetings and perform other tasks as assigned
Assist with grant applications and publications including conducting literature reviews
Minimum Qualifications for Grade
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.
Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant - Background in community-based research
Proficient in data analysis using statistical software
Experience with preparing applications for the IRB
Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree preferred in public health, epidemiology or a related science. Prior experience managing staff, preferred and desired bilingual (English and Spanish)
