SMBC Receptionist - New York City in New York, New York

Overview

This role serves as the initial and main point of contact for all guests and visitors arriving at the SMBC New York Branch in our main reception area. The individual also assists guests (internal and external) using the 6th Floor Conference Center by providing directions and assisting in the resolution of unexpected scheduling conflicts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that arriving guests are welcomed and attended to in a fashion that is appropriate to Japanese business practices

  • Assists employees in managing their conference room needs to provide the best possible experience for guests and to maximize conference room availability. Assists in resolving unexpected scheduling issues as they arise

  • Provides refreshments as requested and appropriate and clears conference rooms after the guests have left

  • Presents a professional appearance as face of the institution

  • Answers internal and external phone calls and direct or otherwise respond to all calls as appropriate

  • Provides assistance to visitors in use of bank amenities

  • Potentially assist in other administrative duties (as assigned) based on guest/conference center volume

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of comparable or relevant experience in a professional corporate environment

  • Prior experience in a global Japanese organization in an administrative or receptionist capacity is preferred

  • Japanese language skills are not necessary would be would be nice to have
