Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for patient visits (sick, INR checks, pre-op as requested by the patient's physician).


  • Perform age-appropriate history and patient examinations

  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to the patient

  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic/non-pharmacologic treatment, and monitor the effectiveness of interventions

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members

  • Facilitate staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational material where necessary

  • Process and print Holter Monitors and appropriate billing

  • Administer vaccines/injections/starting IV's as needed

  • Assist physicians with emergency/critical patients

  • Monitor tasks, labs, etc. of physicians when out of the office

  • Perform other responsibilities as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus one to two years of experience

  • Current NP Board Certification

  • Current NYS NP and RN license

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program from a recognized college or university

  • Current BLS, ACLS, DEA and NPI certification with recent cardiology experience required

Other Requirements

  • Excellent clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills required

  • Must successfully complete systems training requirements

  • Participation in medical surveillance program required
