Adorama Lighting Department Manager in New York, New York
Adorama Rental Co., the leading source for cinema, stills, lighting and grip equipment rentals in NYC is looking for an experienced lighting manager to join our team.
The Lighting Manager is responsible for the overall technical understanding of the technology services we offer our clients and maintaining a team of highly trained technicians. .
Responsibilities and Duties
Ensure all Lighting equipment is prepped utilizing our Quality Assurance Protocol sheets to maintain a consistent quality standard
Lighting Manager Advises Senior Management on new equipment purchases based on latest industry trends and new products.
Provide or facilitate technical training for all Lighting Dept. employees based on assessments
Monitor and evaluate staff through Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Provide training on new & current equipment to relevant company personnel depending on department needs/requirements
Provide technical support for clients through the sales team over the phone and in person.
Advise clients on equipment needs through direct consultations in person, over phone, or by email.
Assist checkout coordinators with support for customers? technical needs during checkouts and preps.
Track and maintain inbound and outbound equipment repairs for the dept.
Responsible for the transfer of overflowing equipment to and from our two warehouses to maintain adequate inventory levels
Maintain an organized and safe work environment
Other responsibilities as determined by management.
Qualifications and Skills
5 years of high level on-set experience as gaffer or equivalent
Strong knowledge of Lighting, G & E equipment
Solid understanding of specialty tools and their implementation
Strong relationship building skills a necessity
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Must be computer literate, knowledge of Excel and Outlook.
BFA in Film preferred
