As a full-stack programmer, the selected candidate will participate in the design and execution of programming and software engineering for new IRI Data Library ( capabilities, to address computational and storage scalability, usability of the platform, and transition to open source packaging.

Participate in the design and execution of programming and software for new Data Library capabilities.

Thoroughly understand the software and architecture of the Data Library and document this understanding for review by Data Library staff.

Review and test current and emerging software and hardware technologies in the context of a new generation Data Library.

Mentor Data Library staff regarding the development process.

Benchmark testing of any new development phases of the Data Library.

Liaise with IRI senior staff to inform and prioritize IRI Data Library developments.

Create clear and comprehensive documentation of the development, installation, and configuration of the IRI Data Library.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant B.S. degree in Computer Science or Engineering with at least 6 years programming experience in high-level compiled language in a Unix operating system environment.

Proficiency in object oriented and procedural programming languages, including Python, JavaScript, C, C++, Java.

Self-starter, with little need for supervision.

Demonstrated team player that is willing and able to work with existing code base to modify, enhance and expand current production software architecture.
