Advertised Summary Job Description Reporting to the Associate Dean of Development and working closely with the Executive Director of Miller Theatre, the incumbent assists in stewardship activities, data management, donor research, and related reporting to support fundraising activities at Miller Theatre, a professional performing arts presenter based at Columbia University School of the Arts. Oversees the annual fund solicitations, develops written materials, conducts research, and assists with special events. Works closely and collaboratively with the School of the Arts development team to ensure that fundraising goals and objectives established for Miller Theatre are met, participating in Miller Theatre performances and events. Other related duties as assigned. Occasional evening and weekend hours.
In alignment with executive leadership, works to ensure that Miller Theatre's fundraising goals and objectives are met and solicits annual fund gifts
Oversees Miller Theatre's annual fall fundraising campaign, including research, analysis, and development of mailing lists; drafting written communications; production and mailing of print pieces; managing acknowledgments; and analysis and reporting of results
In close consultation with the General Manager of Miller Theatre, coordinates the annual spring benefit party, including development of mailing lists, production and mailing of invitations, managing RSVPs and acknowledgments, and oversight of day-of-event logistics
Supports planning and implementation of Miller's Board of Advisors meetings and special events
Develops written materials, research, strategy, and solicitation documents for use in board meetings, major gift solicitations, proposals, and reports
Maintains current and prospective donor profiles, tracking cultivation and stewardship initiatives
Works to expand Miller Theatre's donor base, with a particular focus on research and analysis of active ticket buyers and subscribers
Conducts research to identify new prospects, qualify giving potential, and recommend a course of action
Oversees gift processing, acknowledgments, tracking, and related reporting
Assists in the management of budgets, including preparation of detailed reporting
Attends meetings, performances, and events with executive leadership, donors, and prospects to enhance relationships and to facilitate continued and increased support for Miller Theatre
Creates and manages the master calendar of Miller fundraising activity, including events, individual giving, foundation, government, and corporate grants
Ensures maintenance of all records in Advance database in a timely fashion
Prepare detailed reporting to aid in the evaluation of events and programs
Calls, emails, and writes to donors, as assigned, to maintain a relationship and share information
Minimum Qualifications for Grade
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Bachelor's degree or its equivalent required. Three to five years' related experience is required, as is demonstrated experience in patron facing and donor relationship roles.

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant A commitment to fundraising for the arts, an interest in Miller Theatre's programming, and the ability to articulate a compelling case for support is extremely important. A high level of energy, initiative, and creativity is essential, as is the ability to handle multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail. Excellent writing and communication skills, tact, sensitivity, and judgment are required. Donor management database and Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) experience is required.
