J.P. Morgan’s Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) — Digital Channels - User Experience Design

We are actively seeking an energetic User Experience Design Operations Lead to join our group. Our team consists of highly collaborative and close-knit User Experience Architects, Visual Designers, User Researchers and Creative Technologists who work hand in hand with Product and Technology partners to deliver innovative solutions to our end users.

These users represent small businesses to large corporations, so the tools we design must add value while providing personalized experiences for simple to complex user needs. To do our job well, we utilize creative design-led techniques to help us break through the industry jargon and bureaucracy and find insights that others can’t. We elevate UX not just to solve users’ problems but also to use design to steer the product’s evolution into a powerful and extensible framework.

The successful candidate will join this unique and specialized team that provides product strategy and delivery capabilities for client-facing applications. They will partner with the CIB User Experience Design Leadership team to ensure that our team is deployed efficiently and effectively to serve our clients and business needs.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the design process, design skills and knowledge of the challenges at scaling design teams and toolkits within Enterprise organizations. They are natural connectors and problem solvers who remove roadblocks and communicate and coordinate across workstreams. They are able to gather and analyze data to devise solutions that reduce barriers to the team producing great designs. They enjoy creating sustainable programs that systematically increase craft skills and nurture design culture to engage and retain top talent.

  • Know how to createjust enough process; champion change management to make us a faster and higherachieving team

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve how Designdoes project intake and negotiates program commitment / headcount withProduct and Technology partners

  • Help define and drive operationalstrategy to improve Design team processes, infrastructure and skills

  • Procure, negotiate and managedesigner and researcher tool licenses

  • Model unit costs and help trendour internal recovery rates downwards

  • Assist Design Leads in managingagency and vendor relationships

  • Work with Design Leads to plan andimplement initiatives which foster a strong healthy design team cultureacross all portfolios and disciplines, maintaining a positive workforce

  • Support the Managing Director and DesignLeads in managing agenda and calendar of all-hands meetings

  • Manage the onboarding experiencefor new employees and contractors by creating content, tools, and bestpractices to accelerate productive job engagement by new joiners

  • Ensure that our internal designprocesses, templates, product strategy and team policies are readilydisseminated, understood and easily accessible by the team

  • For lead-level, minimum 10 yearsof professional work experience, at least two in a Design organization

  • Five years in business operations,creative leadership, or creative producer

  • Experience developing lightweightrepeatable processes, standards and workflows

  • Experience within complex businessdomains similar to financial services

  • Foundation education in graphic,industrial, interaction design or related degree

  • Track record of successful programdeliveries and a strong portfolio that highlights business results
