The Przedborski lab in the Department of Pathology Motor Neuron Center seeks to hire a successful candidate with experience in cellular and molecular neurobiology for the position of Associate Research Scientist.
The candidate will investigate mechanisms of neurotoxicity in in vitro and in vivo models of Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy. The candidate will work largely independently within an active group of research scientists. Highly motivated and creative applicants with excellent organization and communication skills are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Degree Required
Ph.D. / M.D. or both
Applicants must have a PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent academic degree within the relevant field of study.
Eligible candidates must have the following qualifications: a doctoral degree in neuroscience, cellular and molecular biology or closely related field; at least five years of postdoctoral research experience; competence in biostatistical analysis; a record of independent and collaborative research; and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A strong preference will be given to candidates with a broad knowledge of neurobiology and neurotoxicity, especially with respect to mechanisms of neuronal death and axonal degeneration.
