The Columbia University in the Department of Neurology is recruiting a scientist for its Division of Pediatric Neurology.
The successful candidate will create a research program that is dedicated to pediatric neuromuscular and the effect of sex on the normal and abnormal development of the nervous system, from a variety of perspectives-molecular genetics, molecular biology, cellular biology-leveraging cutting edge techniques and experimental models of human developmental disorders.
Experience in the development of experimental models of human disease, neuropathology and behavioral assessment is required, and we are looking for candidates that will lead the development of the next generation of studies generating additional data and translating results into mechanistic and target validation studies. Ideally, candidates will develop extramural research support. Research and the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows are important responsibilities for all departmental faculty.
Minimum Degree Required
MD and/or PhD
Requires training and experience in genetic and molecular cellular biology. Field of specialization is Neurobiology of neurodevelopmental disorders.
Three years or more as a Postdoctoral Fellow or Scientist.
