Summary Description: The Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation at New York-Presbyterian Hospital is looking for a full-time faculty member at the level of Assistant Professor. Responsibilities will include comprehensive care of patients with hepatobiliary disorders including pre- and post-transplant care and teaching of the fellows and house staff. Currently, there are 6 transplant hepatologists, 6 surgeons, with both NP ad PA support in the Center which performs -130 liver transplants per year including living and deceased donor procedures in adults and children. There is an active research program including NIH-funded (eg A2ALL) and industry research in Hepatitis, liver failure and liver transplantation with a fully staffed research office and serum/tissue bank. Experience and interest in clinical research in some aspect of liver disease is expected. The applicant must be board certified in transplant hepatology and GI and have expertise in both general hepatology and liver transplantation, including meeting UNOS qualifications as a transplant physician. Proficiency in liver biopsies and standard endoscopic procedures is required.

Minimum Degree Required: M.D. or equivalent medical professional degree

Minimum Qualifications:

All applicants MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered for the position. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in internal medicine, transplant hepatology and Gastroenterology and must be eligible to practice in the State of New York.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior faculty experience as an academic hepatologist is preferred.
