Summary Description: The Columbia University Medical Center/ New York Presbyterian Hospital seeks applications for a physician scientist with a specific expertise in the field of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The position is comprised of 70% research and 30% clinical activities, including supervising cardiology fellows, internal medicine residents and medical students.

Minimum Degree Required: M.D. or equivalent medical professional degree

Minimum Qualifications:

All applicants MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered for the position. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in internal medicine and Cardiovascular Disease and must be eligible to practice in the State of New York.

Preferred Qualifications: The applicant will be a cardiologist who is fellowship trained and board certified/board eligible for both adult cardiovascular medicine and adult echocardiography, and has demonstrated excellence in clinical care and research. The applicant must have (1) a strong background and expertise in the clinical care and research in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with at least one-year fellowship experience dedicated to this disease, (2) at least Master's degree level of experience in bioinformatics and systems biology, and (3) COCATS level III in advanced echocardiography. In addition, the applicant must have a record of academic excellence as demonstrated through a strong publication record and a history of research funding.
