Summary Description: The Cancer Immunotherapy Program at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the laboratory director of a newly established human immune monitoring core. This individual will be responsible for developing a new, state of the art core facility providing cutting-edge capability in both existing and evolving immune monitoring technologies. Current services include polychromatic immunofluorescence and high-throughput transcriptome profiling; single-cell based TCR analyses are in progress. A major aspect of this position is bringing new and evolving techniques and technologies to the CUMC research community. In addition, the new laboratory director will: 1) establish standard operating procedures and quality control measures for relevant assays, 2) further integrate and manage existing core capabilities, 3) serve on an oversight committee that assists core personnel in prioritizing projects, evaluating progress and overseeing long term planning, 4) manage core personnel.

Minimum Degree Required: PhD or equivalent medical professional degree

Minimum Qualifications:

All applicants MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered for the position. The successful candidate for this position will have a PhD in Immunology or a related discipline and at least five years' experience managing a laboratory. Strong interpersonal communications skills and management skills are a requirement.
