ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
FreeWheel is hiring an Application Support Engineer based in our New York office who will report to the Manager of IT Operations. As the Application Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing application support and maintenance for corporate applications used by FreeWheel employees. You will also work on implementing initiatives, enhancing applications and automating manual processes thereby improving productivity.
Provide daily operational support for the suite of Freewheel enterprise applications
Define and apply application configuration changes to support business initiatives
Research, plan, test, and apply application upgrades and patches
Research, develop, and implement new enterprise applications and best practices
Develop Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) and WIKI knowledge base for all managed applications
Provide training to internal staff
Ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of production systems including database, application and web servers
Implement, deploy and support AIOps monitoring platform
Review problems to understand root cause of issues and ensure proper fixes are deployed
Coordinate and complete assigned deliverable schedules to ensure timelines are met
Track issues and risks, communicate status and escalate concerns to management
ABOUT YOU / QUALIFICATIONS :
4 years Linux Setup & Support Experience
Any IT Application Support Experience is a huge plus
Proficiency in Bash, Perl, Python scripting
Experience with JIRA and Confluence is a plus
Experience working with monitoring tools (Nagios, Grafana, Datadog, etc.) is a plus
Experience with any AIOps monitoring platform (Moogsoft, BigPanda, etc) is a big plus
Knowledge of web and application servers configuring/troubleshooting (such as Tomcat)
Knowledge of Database and SQL is a plus
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Known for smart, logical thinking, interest and enthusiasm
Detail oriented, flexible and thrives in a global team-oriented environment
Organized, responsive and highly thorough problem solver
B.S. in Computer Science or related field
