Volt is hiring for Product Review Engineer for Aerospace client in New Orleans, LA.
Liaison Engineering (LE) Support for the Space Launch System (SLS) Program located at the Michoud Assembly Facility, New Orleans, Louisiana.
These positions will support the site by coordinating timely nonconforming part dispositions, as well as providing technical expertise. As a member of the Product Review Engineering Team, this individual’s primary responsibility will be to resolve technical issues and support day-to-day operations of the center in terms of quality, on-time delivery and cost performance. Participate in Material Review Boards (MRB), prefer candidates with MRB Certification. Assesses and resolves product/process issues through the product lifecycle. Leads research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and designs interim and final engineering solutions. Leads others to analyze, conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for design non-conformances. Develops and implements product/process improvements. Analyzes reported problems for potential safety issues; recommends and manages complex resolution. Leads develop of interim and final solutions. Provides design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews. Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards. Develops customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
Prefer experience working on MRB (Materials Review Board) activities related to structures.
Prefer experience with Space Launch Vehicle Design & Manufacturing.
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility - U.S. Citizenship Required. This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to NASA (DOT) random drug and alcohol testing.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
