JOB SUMMARY:

Ensures the integrity of accounting information and provides analytical services for transmission and substation projects.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for initiate, monitoring, maintain and close out of capital work orders in all legal entities. Includes and populating and maintaining estimates with line-item assets and their appropriate Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) accounts, retirement units and asset description supporting the dollars approved within Power Plan (throughout the entire WO life cycle, open phase to posted-to-CPR phase). Communicates with assigned project managers on a weekly basis.

  • Assist entering all work order In-service dates (ISD) s into PowerPlan in a timely manner for all PM&C legal entities, as well maintaining changes to ISDs.

  • Responsible for reporting and maintaining assigned Primavera P6 tasks for work order schedules while following a rigor Stage Gate process.

  • Assist in monthly reporting activities that create the Management Review Meeting report (MRM); Work order Eligible to close report, Construction Work in Progress (CWIP); Provides weekly updates (of assigned In-Service WOs) to the WO Eligible to Close Report log.

  • Assist team with creating and distributing Project cost reports, Project Cost sheets while analyzing department's liability, variances, accruals, changes and publishing monthly project cost; at times can be called upon to work with Portfolio Managers, Project Managers.

  • Maintain and provide a weekly activity report to supervisor

  • Strong communicates skills required; resource will directly interphase with Management, Portfolio Managers, Project Managers, Construction Engineers, and Engineering design resources when necessary and at time other department like property accounting and general accounting, miscellaneous receivables. .

  • Performs general accounting and contract administration activities; Initiates, monitors, maintains and closes out Transmission and Substation contracts when necessary while working closely with Project Management, Construction Management, Grid Management, and Supply Chain. Must be able to maintain confidential information regarding contractor bids, and time & material cost sheets. Occasionally prepares cost comparison of vendor rates to judge cost effectiveness of competitive contractors

  • At times reviews vendor invoices for contract compliance by verifying accuracy of charges for time and equipment, or adherence that coincides to estimates built in Power Plan.

  • Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects related to capital projects (Accruals, RU's, etc)

  • Facilitate the close out of projects by analyzing the accuracy of total projects costs and completing the in-service notification, which is utilized by Transmission Planning and System Agreement Administrator

  • Analyzes projects to detect erroneous charges, creates journal entries when necessary to correct budget and establishes variance explanations

  • Reports results and problematic findings to management in order find resolutions to outstanding issue

  • Required to train and maintain WebTAP training sessions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education :

Associate Accountant: High School Diploma

Associate Accountant, Sr.: Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting or other related fields, or the equivalent work experience.

Minimum Experience :

Associate Accountant: Previous related work experience preferred

Associate Accountant, SR: 5 years of Business Accounting or Office management experience required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products with extreme proficiency working in Excel with macro’s and pivot tables, PowerPoint for slide presentation.

  • Knowledge of PowerPlan and Primavera P6 r17.2

  • Receptive to continuous learning of additional analytical products used to perform duties
