Safco Products Company Accounting Manager - Safco in New Hope, Minnesota

As the Accounting Manager with Safco, you will be an integral part of the financial management team leading accounting, reporting and financial control processes to fuel operational and financial success. You will oversee day to day accounting, reporting and financial control for the company and will drive innovation through process improvement, financial analysis and supporting initiatives to further Safco's reputation and long-standing success. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: Proactively lead to deliver timely and accurate P.and.L and Balance Sheet accounting in compliance with US GAAP and corporate policies utilizing current best practices to maximize value and efficiency Proactively lead to deliver value added financial reporting that highlights key trends, issues and opportunities across the business including progress against goals Partner with Safco Sales and Operations teams to analyze data and processes to identify and recommend solutions to support business decisions Ensure Safco maintains effective financial control by managing approval levels, separation of duties and other financial control tools Act as a liaison between Safco and the corporate finance team to leverage support and ensure timely and accurate compliance with corporate policies, reporting and procedures in the areas of accounting, reporting, treasury .and. tax Lead Safco's participation in LDI's annual financial audit Lead and bring accountability to a team of three direct reports (Financial Accountant, Accounts Payable and Treasury) by building a culture of high performance, collaboration and continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality RESPONSIBILITIES .and. QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL EXCEL IN THIS ROLE IF: Analytical and Proactive, bringing a solid understanding of operations within a manufacturing and distribution environment and able to correlate operations costs to the P.and.L. Your practice is proactive and forward thinking as you focus on the big picture without getting too bogged down in the details. Able to drive Financial Strategy through the lens of the Business. Recognized by leadership as a strategic business partner who understands manufacturing and distribution operations environments (e.g., inventory costing, inventory controls, operations efficiency and risks) and knows how to drive business impact by working closely with the leadership team. Effective at balancing priorities that impact the business with the need to respect accounting requirements (e.g., trial balance reviews, reconciliations, reporting). Excels in an Environment of Change. Whether you're driving improvements across your department, evolving the business's thinking around financial strategy or supporting a new acquisition for the business, you're comfortable owning the initiative and standing behind what you believe is best for the business as you collaboratively lead and work with others to drive change. TO QUALIFY, YOU WILL BRING: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting 7+ years of progressive experience in Finance or Accounting Management. Both public and private accounting experience preferred 5+ years of experience leading and developing finance/accounting teams Financial leadership experience in manufacturing and distribution environments Ability to learn and navigate effectively in the JD Edwards ERP system, strong database knowledge (BI preferred) and advanced Excel skills Excellent data analysis and trend identifications skills with the ability to show the impact of the analysis on the financial statements Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with plant and corporate team members and executives Exceptional judgment and creative problem solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills Demonstrated skills in coaching employees and facilitating process and cultural changes Safco has delivered exceptional organization and workspace products for th
