Alene Candles Wax Supervisor - 2nd Shift in New Albany, Ohio
Alene Candles Midwest is seeking a Wax Supervisor for 2nd shift. This is a full-time, fully benefited salaried position. The Wax Supervisor directs the activities of the wax department. They will operate from a narrow scope of responsibility to maintain wax schedules and ensure production needs are met, plan work, make assignments, and train new employees.
Supervision of wax mixing, tank farm and inventory activities and staff.
Review production schedule for capacity requirements and daily production needs.
Prepare all necessary paperwork.
Monitor raw component melting needed for production wax batches RE: HVO, micro, flakes and components needing oven work.
Supervises raw material inventory and maintain 99.5% accuracy.
Coordinate activities and designate appropriate daily work assignments.
Oversee and enforce standard operating procedures to maintain quality and accuracy.
Communicate to other shifts completion on necessary tasks required of them.
Maintain Alene 5’S standards of performance and comply with housekeeping, safety policies and procedures.
Supervises hourly, non-exempt Wax Team. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; motivating and appraising performance; reward and discipline of employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, project organization and process improvement.
Other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
5 years related experience and/or training; combination of education and experience will be considered
Previous supervisory experience
Degree from accredited university preferred
Strong written and verbal communication
Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills
Previous experience with inventory management a plus
