The Quality Management Coordinator - Patient Safety (RN) assists the organization with regulatory surveys and regulatory compliance through continual survey readiness activities. Monitors policies, adverse events, and clinical practice to maintain regulatory compliance and current evidence based practice. Organizes and maintains systematic data collection and flow of information between departments and into applicable committees.

General Essential Functions: 1. 1. Gathers and analyzes data and prepares reports to management and outside agencies as required.

2. Participates on committees directed towards promoting patient safety issues. 3. Assists in Serious Event Analysis with complete action plans and follow-up monitoring. Including participation and presentation at the facility’s Serious Preventable Adverse Event Committee. 4. Assists with investigation and analysis of known and potential patient safety issues. 5. Assists with Proactive Risk Assessments and FMEAs as requested. 6. Works closely with the QRM Leadership to ensure compliance with statutory mandates, regulatory requirements and accreditation standards of professional organizations. 7. Responds timely to patient grievances in writing following the required timeframes. 8. Responds to patient complaints and provides education to leaders and staff regarding the grievance and complaint process. 9. Maintains accurate records of grievances (electronically) along with response letters and relevant support documentation. 10. Reports aggregate patient safety data and grievance data to facility quality committees on a routine basis. 11. Facilitates case analysis on Hospital Acquired conditions, including action plans and follow-up monitoring. 12. Provides ongoing education on patient safety and/or quality improvement to hospital and medical staff. 1. RN with current Tennessee licensure; BS required 2. Clinical background – 4 years experience 3. Minimum 1 year QA/PI experience preferred 4. Customer service experience preferred 5. Excellent written and oral communication skills 6. Technical skills: Strong computer skills and statistical analysis knowledge, written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, organized and detailed, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
