Position Summary:

JR Automation Technologies is seeking to grow our concept and cost engineer team with skilled individuals that enjoy thinking outside the box in a team environment to solve practical problems with no standard solution. JR is a valued partner in the aerospace, automotive, construction, consumer products, food processing, furniture, medical, and pharmaceutical industries. As a Concept & Cost Development Engineer at JR, you will work alongside a team of professionals to help develop an accurate budget and quote that outlines key concept points, sequence of operations, and mechanical description. We work with solutions that include robotics, vision, pneumatic, and motion control. You will work hard as a team, meet deadlines, and be rewarded for a job well done.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Applications Engineers in Proposal development.

  • Train, review and maintain minimum proper staffing.

  • Review and approve performance and salary appraisals for all group members.

  • Review requests from the customer or salesman. Facilitate Quote Review meeting.

  • Develop preliminary project schedules.

  • Prepare Proposals, as required.

  • Communicate Proposal information.

  • Prepare customer and vendor correspondences, as required.

  • Travel to international and domestic Customer and vendor facilities, as required.

  • Deliver presentations to the customer, as required.

  • Entertain the customer, as required.

  • Maintain contact with Sales Engineers.

  • Assure Applications Kick-Off meeting occurs with the project team.

  • Review project information, as required, to enhance quotation estimate accuracy and develop proposed deliveries.

  • Produce CAD drawings, as required.

  • Assist project team, as required.

  • Provide assistance to the project team during difficult phases of a project.

  • Lead prototype effort, as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor?s degree in Engineering or 7+ years equivalent experience.

  • At least 3+ years of experience utilizing 3D CAD, Pro Engineer and/or SolidWorks required.

  • 5+ years of working experience with conceptualizations, bills of material, sheet metal, fixtures, and machine design is required.

  • 5+ years experience leading/managing a group of 3 or more engineers.
