We are looking for a Staff RN II - CNA (California Nurses Association) for NICU at Queen of the Valley!
Location: Queen of the Valley Medical Center - Napa, CA
Schedule: Per Diem / On Call
Shift: 12-hour Days
The Neonatal Intensive Care RN independently uses the nursing process to safely, therapeutically and efficiently care for a group of patients. Uses information from a variety of sources to assess, plan, implement, identify outcomes and evaluate patient’s plan of care.
Provides care to low and high-risk neonates and their families, using a developmentally appropriate, family-centered approach.
Assesses and care for newborn infants during their transition to extrauterine life, including provision of resuscitative measures as indicated.
Monitors and care for critically ill neonates utilizing advanced life support equipment.
Provides routine newborn care when appropriate, including hearing, bilirubin and metabolic screenings.
Provides assistance and education to parents / family regarding infant care, including anticipatory guidance regarding issues which may arise within the first few weeks at home.
Provides discharge education, including referrals to appropriate community agencies and resources specific to parenting.
Ensures compliance with infant security measures and patient safety precautions in the Maternity Center (e.g., monitoring of visitors, participation in Code Pink drills and alerts, application of identibands and security transmitters).
Completes charge forms for Intensive Care Nursery patients.
Makes referrals to appropriate intrafacility departments (e.g., Dietary, PT, OT, Social Services) as indicated.
Experience: Must have more than one (1) year of experience and meet the department specific competencies
License / Certification:
Current California RN license
Current BLS certification for Health Care Providers
Current NRP certification within three (3) months of hire or obtaining position.
