Kelly Services Scientist - Technical Reviewer - Mass Spec in Morrisville, North Carolina

Kelly Services is currently hiring an Scientist -Technical Reviewer for a position with an esteemed client in Durham, NC. This is a full-time contract opportunity.

Candidate must be a Mass Spectrometry expert with intimate knowledge of the workings of a Mass Spec. We will consider a Mass Spec candidate with extensive experience operating an instrument.

The Scientist -Technical Reviewer will work within the Organic Spectroscopy group reviewing technical documents, such as protocols, test methods, text reports, certificates of analysis, and operating procedures for accuracy, thoroughness and regulatory compliance.

Candidates MUST HAVE:

  • LC/MS experience preferred most

  • LC/MS/MS experience accepted and highly preferred

  • LC experience accepted

  • NMR experience (preferred)

  • Background as an Organic, Medicinal, or Polymer Chemist with strong background in reaction mechanisms

  • Experience with inhalation products is a must

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute laboratory workplans/schedules independently, using customer milestones and Division/site performance standards and metrics

  • Authors technical documents, such as protocols, test methods, text reports, certificates of analysis, and operating procedures

  • Review technical documents for accuracy, thoroughness and compliance

  • Trains, coaches or mentor’s others on technical, personal development or business issues

  • Supervises technical staff, including work assignments and performance management

  • Responsible as project director with responsibility for project outcome and customer interaction

  • Executes efficiency improvement project with guidance

  • Identifies and recommend business opportunities on a project specific basis

Job Requirements:

  • BS with industry experience (7-9 years), MS (4-6), or be fresh from a PhD program

  • Must have demonstrated experience operating an instrument

  • Ability to prioritize, and execute review for laboratory work, plans/schedules independently, using customer milestones and Division/site performance standards and metrics

  • Executes efficiency improvement project with guidance

  • Identify and recommend business opportunities on a project specific basis

  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, Windows, etc.

  • Self-motivated and strong work ethic

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills Preferred experience (but not required)

  • GxP - KF, FTIR, UV, TGA, or DSC experience (preferred)

  • GC, Dosing and Aerodynamic Particle Size Distribution (APSD) experience preferred
