Xylem Project Manager – Product Development in Montecchio Maggiore, Italy

The Role: this position will be responsible for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing Product Development projects which requires the formulation and implementation of complete and coherent project plans, coordination of global multifunctional teams, key vendors and effective communication to key stakeholders, utilizing project management tools and the Company New Product Development process (called XPD – Xylem Product Development).

Essential Functions:

1.Manages projects or project segments which require complete and coherent project plans to ensure meeting project timelines and deliverables. Establishes major milestones such as preliminary reviews, resource requirements, critical reviews and other schedule goals. Establishes and implements project plans in compliance with specifications, performance requirements, costs and schedules. Is responsible for meeting all assigned objectives of the project.

2.Monitors all project activities to ensure compliance with product specifications, performance requirements, schedules and cost commitments. Identifies existing problems or potential risks in terms of schedule, budget, etc., and works with affected departments and or vendors in resolving or avoiding them.

3.Responsible for reporting to more senior management, as appropriate, all significant developments with regard to project performance costs and deliverables. Provides status reports as specified and required.

4.May function on very complex projects under a Project Director/Manager as manager of a single area of project management, e.g., Cost & Schedule Control, Configuration Management, Engineering Change Proposal Administration, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires B.S. degree in Engineering or in a technical area of science and research.

  • Project Management Institute PMP Certification is a plus.

  • Good understanding of Project Portfolio Management and application to Program Management and process groups: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Control and Closing.

  • Good knowledge and experience with the Stage-Gate process.

  • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.

  • Proficient with use of MS Office Suite, MS Project and SharePoint

  • Must demonstrate and lead with effective management skills to direct employees to achieve project goals and outcomes.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively the technology, its application and benefits to a wide audience to include customers and senior management.

  • Fluent English / Availability to travel
