JOB ID - 41703Description The primary role of the Production Engineer is to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Additionally, the Production Engineer recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. The Production Engineer may also coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products.Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities:� Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.� Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.� Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.� Create manning plans based on volume forecasts for new programs.� Gives input to product design based on design for manufacture/design for assembly philosophy.� Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.� Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.� Develop and document quality system for new programs (control plan, PFMEA, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans.)� Coordinate and document all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.� Develop and maintain documentation such as downtime, scrap, and efficiencies.� Utilize data such as downtime, scrap, efficiencies, etc. to plan and strategize countermeasures for equipment and process problems.� Leads or participates in Kaizen activities to ensure continuous improvement in processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment.Qualifications Qualified Applicants will possess the following:� Bachelor's degree in Engineering with three (3) years Engineering experience. Experience in automotive manufacturing industry is preferred.� Knowledge of and experience with Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.� Experience in machining environment utilizing equipment such as using CNC lathes and mills.� Able to create and/or modify programming for CNC machine.Work Environment:Combination of office and plant environment.
