The Pennsylvania Chemical Plant (full operation targeted for the early 2020s) is set to be a world-scale petrochemical plant that upgrades locally-produced ethane from Marcellus and Utica shale formations gas production to make polyethylene. The Maintenance Shop Supervisor is critical to the mission of making the petrochemical plant a world-class asset. The position will be responsible for hiring the maintenance staff with skills and culture fit desired, getting contracts in place, and having work processes established – including ways of working, and completion of training and competency assessment of crafts. The position will report to the Central Maintenance Superintendent.
The Maintenance Team is within a combined department consisting of: Engineering, Maintenance, Projects and Turnarounds.
Lead the Craft
Drive the execution of maintenance activities in the central maintenance shop and provide a technical oversight to shop millwrights and machinists.
Ensure that Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) is a value of the shop maintenance craft and that HSSE culture is observed and on display at all times.
Manage a team of 4 to 6 maintenance personnel including the review of their daily assignments to complete the daily schedule, and assume planning and material ordering functions when there is a significant change in the work scope.
Work with rotating equipment engineers and inspectors to ensure that the Management of Change (MOC) process is followed and repairs are appropriately documented.
Monitor and control deviations from planned maintenance activities for safety critical equipment and ensure that status of emergency work is tracked and communicated.
Prepare budgetary estimates for all inhouse and offsite rotating equipment repairs and drive maintenance execution cost management initiatives.
Lead and participate in root cause analysis, causal learning activities, and ensure that craft training is kept up to date.
Develop the skills of the crafts through coaching and counseling techniques, as well as providing performance evaluations, career planning and addressing crafts ‘issues.
Identify and eliminate barriers to efficient work execution.

Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Minimum seven (7) years of pump repair and/or machine maintenance shop supervisory background.
Strong supervisory/leadership skills required.
Proven track record in Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) and maintenance execution performance.
Knowledge in Management of Change (MOC) process preferred.
Proficient in Global System Applications and Products (GSAP) preferred.
Experience in budgeting, contracting and procurement process for machine maintenance shop equipment preferred.
