Who you are
The Spaceship Company (TSC) www.thespaceshipcompany.com is seeking an experienced Propulsion Specialist who will be proficient in performing analysis, research, and design for air-breathing propulsion systems that includes turbofan, turboprop, turbojet, RAMJET, SCRAMJET and combined cycle engines. Will act as the technical liaison lead with the Propulsion System Subcontractor and TSC Advanced Design/Design Engineering during development and production to ensure all technical requirements are met.
Perform propulsion system engineering trade studies, engine deck parametric studies of engine/inlet/nozzle performance, support all phases of design, selection, development, integration and testing of a propulsion system to include; airframe integration, engine control logic and hardware, fuel system, bleed extraction, HP extraction, inlet and nozzles.
Prepare performance specifications, requirements, and statement of work documents.
Develop propulsion models for incorporation into 6-DOF flight performance simulation models. Assist Aero and Flight Control teams in validation of air vehicle performance.
Support new product development programs and fleet sustaining issues.
Maintain current legacy computer analysis programs, and support development of modified and new software tools and methods.
Present work and technical findings to management and senior leadership through design reviews and program milestones.
Perform customer presentations, provide engineering reports, specifications and proposal inputs.
BS or MS degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (or related field)
10 years’ or more experience in airbreathing propulsion systems for aerospace vehicles that includes turbofan, turboprop, turbojet, RAMJET, SCRAMJET, and combined cycle engines.
Experience with planning and conducting flight tests, and post test data evaluation is desired.

Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred experience with 3D solid modeling software; CATIA, etc.
Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA is highly desired
