Prevost , a member of the Volvo Group, is currently looking for an effective and independent Bus and Truck Mechanic (Service Technician) to fill a vacant position within his current team.

Rôle:

The Bus and Truck Mechanic (Service Technician) has a key role in the Volvo Group | Prevost Division in order to perform skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of coaches. Responsibilities may include trouble-shooting repair needs which are difficult to identify and independently completing repair projects.

This is a specialist level, where technicians are assigned responsibilities for performing highly skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of coaches. Responsibilities may include trouble-shooting repair needs which are difficult to identify; independently completing major repair projects, or directing projects requiring a team effort, including supervision of others in the completion of some work.

Responsibilities: (Functions)

  • Duties of a level one and two technician;

  • Routine coach maintenance and inspections;

  • Replacement of defective parts requiring minimal diagnosing;

  • Building & equipment maintenance, general house keeping;

  • Other duties as assigned;

  • Complete paper work on a daily basis;

  • Diagnose and repair of Electrical, HVAC, Suspension, Pnuematic and Brake Systems.

  • Work independently or in a team environment without supervision

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors and customers regarding repairs

  • Provide advanced training, assistance and mentoring of fellow coworkers

  • Perform routine coach maintenance and inspections

  • Do building & equipment maintenance, general housekeeping

Required training and experience:

  • Truck and Coach Licence "310T" or Red Seal certification will need to be complete once in Canada

  • Class B commercial drivers license with a passenger endorsement will need to be complete once in Canada

  • Four years of qualified mechanical experience substituting one year of related technical training for a year of experience

  • Proactively acquire and expand knowledge of the latest technology and systems in the industry

  • Perform duties of supervisor as required

  • EPA certification for the handling of refrigerant (this is a plus)

  • The candidate will need to work in English

Knowledge and skills:

  • Pass required apptitude test

  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities

  • Be go to person in areas of expertise (Electrical, HVAC, Slide Out, Pneumatics & Body Repair)

  • Ability to look up parts efficiently

  • Assist customers over the phone with technical issues and/or questions

  • Be proficient with electronic media ( Technical Prints, Cat Base, Bulletins & Recalls, SAP)

  • Remuneration varying between 30$ and 42$ / hour ;
